Survey

This is a survey to help us decide where to have the 2024 Parsons Family Reunion and what options to include. Please note, this is a survey to help us decide. While we will consider all of the information given, it's not a direct vote; multiple issues need to be taken into consideration when coming up with final plans.

This survey will remain online through the end of November. We'll then close it and use the results to help us plan the next reunion.

We would like every adult (and no children) to fill this out. Even if you came as a couple, we'd like to hear from both of you.

Note: After the you hit Submit, you will be taken to a "Thank you" page. If you are not, and you're still on the same page, you likely missed a question. All fields are required, and the one you missed should be highlighted in red.

Attending 2024

We want to get an idea of how many will likely attend next year. This is not a definite commitment to be there, just let us know what you think your plans will be.
Attending 2024

Section

Our first few reunions would one over 3 days, with most people taking a Friday off, leaving early from work, or just arriving a little late on Friday evening.

We had many mention that 2 nights and 3 days (two of the short days) was just too short, and asked about doing 3 nights. So to minimize people having to take off from work, we started doing the vacations next to 3-day holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day). Let us know your preferences for 2024. This made the reunion a little more difficult to plan, and a little more expensive, but gave us more time and a more relaxed weekend.

Meals and Family Subsidies

Meal Section

Sharing meals together has been a big part of what we do, and it helps bring the family together for a shared experience. However, some have expressed some frustrations with the way we've been doing meals. The choices below will help us decide what to do going forward.

Family Subsidy Section

Helping the younger families attend has been part of our reunions for several years now. We've done this by allowing kids under 18 to attend for free. This was easy when it was "shared space" (Crystal Beach Houses, Deer Creek Cabins and Cleburne State Park); but can still be done if we do individual reservations (Jellystone park, or some other venue).

The likely option would be something like a "reunion fee" of around $60, $10 of which would go for incidentals (see the previous question), and $50 to a fund for families with children to help offset the price of their reservations. The money then would be evenly divided between the children, given to their parents to subsidize the cost.

A couple of notes:

  1. This will only be done if we pick a venue that requires each of us make our own reservations and counts children as a "guest".
  2. Children brought as guests that are not related to the adult(s) sharing reunion costs will not be included in the distribution. In other words, children not related will have to pay full price.

Please choose carefully, some families will likely not be able to attend if they have to pay full price for their kids.
